Apples and Oranges?
Judging the ipad against the Amazon kindle is a bit like comparing apples and oranges, as long as apples are tablet computers and oranges are e-readers. While the ipad is a cool new device from Apple, it is designed more for web browsing, photo and video display, email and light work than for mobile electronic reading. The ipad certainly does include the newly introduced iBook app that allows the device to function as an e-reader, as well as access to the Apple iBookstore – but pound for pound, the kindle is an achievement in e-readers where the ipad is an achievement of a different sort.
